Throughout the series it has been made clear that Stiles is the main comic relief on the show. Overshadowed by his funny one-liners and excessive sarcasm almost each of his lines delivers, the fandom seems to forget that Stiles is not the only character of Teen Wolf with a sense of humor.
This collective memory loss has taken its (particularly heavy) toll on Derek.
The thing is, Derek Hale does not lack a sense of humor.
You have to convince yourself that the lion is not in the room.
